Part 1

A visitor from far away

The pilot showed the little prince his aeroplane. He explained that it could fly. The prince asked which planet the pilot came from. The prince kept the drawing of his sheep in his pocket. The box in the drawing could be a house for the sheep at night. The pilot offered to give him a rope, but the prince's home was very small.

A very strange idea

The prince wanted his sheep to eat young baobabs. A fully grown baobab could be as large as a building. Even a whole group of elephants could not eat one. Tiny beginnings

Seeds lay hidden in the soil of the prince's planet. Some grew into roses or radishes. Other seeds grew into baobabs. Young baobabs looked like young roses. The prince had to pull out a baobab as soon as he could recognise it. If he left it too long, its roots could spread through the planet and damage it.

The prince knew of a man who had neglected three small bushes. He asked the pilot to make a drawing. He wanted the drawing to warn children about the danger of baobabs.
